Scuba Diving in Bahamas - Shark Sightings! | Day 1 of 5 Day Black & White Photo Challenge!

Shark photography is not for the faint of heart...

This shark came so close to me that I could see the scratches on his skin!

In San Salvador, we always saw at least a few reef sharks swimming gracefully along the reefs and walls of each dive site.

Thank you Gishani Ratnayake for inviting me to the B&W challenge. This first image was taken in San Salvador, Bahamas where I met Gishani, another awesome underwater photographer.

The reefs are in good condition in San Salvador, and I can't wait to return to dive with Tyler Schultz of Michigan Adventure Diving again in search of the elusive hammerheads.

I would like to nominate Edmund K. Ie of Edmund Ie Photography to join the B&W photo challenge today, who is a scientist and former wedding photographer.

Turquoise Ocean Water Outside My Room in Bahamas | Scuba Heaven

San Salvador Island in the Bahamas is one of the best scuba diving destinations in the Caribbean. It is one of the outer islands of the Bahamas and boasts beautiful coral reefs, as well as reef sharks, and occasionally in winter, hammerhead sharks!

I went in winter and saw 2 hammerhead sharks together! They shy away from the loud noise of scuba diver's bubbles and rarely come close to divers. The reef sharks, on the other hand are friendly and curious about divers. This is an image of a reef shark as it swam over my head.

I had an excellent experience staying at Riding Rock Beach Resort on San Salvador, and diving with Tyler and his dive operation. I'll be back for more underwater adventures! Fine art underwater images and canvases are available - visit ambitonphoto.co for contact info.
